About Us

Mystic Ice Cream brings homemade ice cream, retro charm, music, and a little whimsy to downtown Mount Dora. Owned by Darrell and Lisa Day, the shop is part of a locally loved brand that has built a following across Lake and Sumter counties for smooth ice cream, playful flavors, and an atmosphere that feels more like someone’s cheerful home than a typical dessert stop.

At Mystic, the ice cream is the star. Lisa helps carry on the tradition of making ice cream on site with all-natural ingredients, giving guests something new to discover alongside familiar favorites. The case may feature Olde Time Vanilla, Chocolate, Butter Pecan, Oreo, Cookie Dough, Strawberry, Butterscotch Crunch, Peanut Butter Swirl, Mystic Mint, Black Jack Cherry, and rotating selections.

Mystic is also known for signature adult ice creams, made by incorporating alcohol into the process for flavors with a distinctive twist. Popular options include Kahlúa Fudge, Bailey’s, Cherry Amaretto, Coconut Rum, Grasshopper, Mystic Slide, Whiskey PBJ, and more. It is a fun niche that makes Mystic memorable.

Located at 348 Alexander Street, across from the Mount Dora Historic Train Depot and Visitor Center, Mystic is perfectly placed for a downtown stroll, an after-dinner treat, family outing, or sweet stop during one of Mount Dora’s signature events.
