Many people think human trafficking only happens in big cities; but the truth is, it’s happening
everywhere, and businesses are the eyes and ears of the community. Business plays a vital role
in identifying trafficking acts or victims. Moreover, a business assumes safety, financial, legal,
and public image risks if human trafficking is ignored. That is why it is the best interest of every
business and workplace to learn how to recognize and respond to both sex and labor
trafficking.
This certificate program that will detail how management and staff can respond if they suspect
sex or labor trafficking. Topics include: relevant laws; types of human trafficking in Florida;
recognizing how human trafficking occurs in a variety of business settings; legal liability;
responses and protocols; prioritizing safety for workplace and public; support for survivors; and
key resource information.
Attendees will receive a certificate, used by many for professional development credits. This
course has been approved by the Florida Bar for 2 hours of CLE Credit and by the Florida
Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
With this knowledge, you will empower and fortify your community, you will protect your
bottom line and your workplace, you will stand with survivors, and you will be part of a
community working together to prevent and end human trafficking.
